Denver is a small town in Jefferson Township, Miami County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. In 2020, the population was 478 people.

A Look Back in Time
Denver was first planned out in 1872. This happened when the Eel River Railroad line was built to reach that spot. The town was named after the much larger city of Denver, Colorado. The local post office in Denver has been open since 1869.
Where is Denver Located?
Denver is located in the northern part of Miami County, Indiana. Indiana State Road 16 runs right through the town. It is known as Harrison Street there.
If you go east on State Road 16 for about 3 miles (5 km), you will reach Chili. If you go west for about 8 miles (13 km), you will find Twelve Mile. Peru, which is the main city and county seat of Miami County, is about 9 miles (14 km) south of Denver.
Rivers and Waterways
The Eel River flows just south of Denver. A smaller stream called Weesau Creek touches the western edge of the town in two places. The Eel River eventually flows southwest. It joins the Wabash River near Logansport.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Denver covers a total area of about 0.24 square miles (0.62 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
