History of Donnybrook
The first settlement called Donnybrook was started in 1895. It was named after the famous Donnybrook Fair in Ireland.
In 1897, the name of this first settlement was changed to Goetz. A year later, in 1898, a new town was formed nearby. This new town took the name Donnybrook. It was built along the main route of the Soo Line Railroad.
