Dufur is a small city in Wasco County, Oregon, in the United States. In 2020, about 632 people lived there. Dufur is known for its farms. Farmers in Dufur grow important crops like wheat, fruit, and grapes.

Dufur became an official city on February 10, 1893. It was named after two brothers, Andrew and Enoch Burnham Dufur. In 1859, they started raising animals on a large piece of land. This land is now where the city stands.

In 2018, some parts of Dufur had to be evacuated. This happened because of three big wildfires. These fires were called the Long Hollow Fire, the Substation Fire, and the South Valley Fire. Together, they burned over 100,000 acres of land.

Every year, Dufur holds a special event called the Threshing Bee. It happens on the second full weekend of August. This festival celebrates farming in the area.

At the festival, you can see old-fashioned horse-drawn equipment. This equipment was used for harvesting crops. There is also a steam tractor that powers a machine called a threshing machine. It helps separate grain from the plant.
