History of Dwight
Dwight began its story in 1887. This was when the Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley Railroad built its tracks to this spot.
Many of the first people who settled here came from a town called Dwight, Illinois. Because of this, they decided to name their new village "Dwight" too.
Geography of the Village
Dwight is a small place in terms of its size. The United States Census Bureau measures land areas. They reported that the village covers about 0.25 square miles (0.62 square kilometers).
