Eamon Wade Sullivan (born August 30, 1985) is an Australian former champion swimmer. He was known for his incredible speed in sprint freestyle races. Eamon won three Olympic medals and even held world records! After his swimming career, he became famous for winning Celebrity MasterChef Australia. He then started several successful food businesses.

Eamon Sullivan's Swimming Career
Eamon Sullivan started making waves in swimming early. In April 2002, he won the 50-meter freestyle at the Australian Age Championships. He also placed second in the 100-meter freestyle for his age group.
Olympic Beginnings
In 2004, Eamon earned a spot on Australia's 4x100 freestyle relay team for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He was the youngest male swimmer on the team. Australia finished sixth in the relay.
Major Wins and Challenges
Eamon faced a hip injury in July 2005, which meant he missed the World Aquatics Championships. But he bounced back strongly!
In March 2006, he won a gold medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. He also helped his team win a silver medal in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay. Later that year, he set a new Australian record in the 50-meter freestyle.
By 2007, Eamon was winning races internationally. He set new Australian records in both the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle events. Throughout his career, Eamon dealt with many injuries, including hip problems and shoulder sprains.
Beijing Olympics and World Records
The 2008 Beijing Olympics were a big moment for Eamon. In the 4x100-meter freestyle relay final, he set a new world record for the 100-meter freestyle. Australia won a bronze medal in this event.
In the individual 100-meter freestyle race, Eamon was the fastest swimmer in the heats and semi-finals. He even broke the world record twice in two days! First, he set a new record of 47.20 seconds. Then, just minutes later, he broke it again with an amazing time of 47.05 seconds. In the final, he won a silver medal, just behind France's Alain Bernard.
Eamon continued to break records. In 2008, he became the fastest swimmer in history for the 50-meter freestyle. He broke the world record twice in two days at the Australian Olympic Trials.
Retirement from Swimming
Eamon had to pull out of the 2009 World Championships due to a virus. He also had an appendectomy, which affected his training. He was part of the Australian Olympic swimming team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
In 2014, Eamon made a comeback at the Australian Trials, winning the 50-meter freestyle. This earned him a spot on the Commonwealth Games team. However, in July 2014, Eamon announced he was retiring from competitive swimming. He explained that ongoing injuries made it too difficult to continue.

In 2009, Eamon Sullivan showed off his cooking skills. He won the first season of Celebrity MasterChef Australia! He beat out other famous people like Kirk Pengilly and Rachael Finch.
In 2011, Eamon competed in Australia's Greatest Athlete. He also made a special guest appearance on MasterChef Australia. He cooked the same chocolate dessert that helped him win Celebrity MasterChef. In 2013, he became a team captain on the Australian game show A League of Their Own.
Eamon also competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2014. He was the fourth person to be eliminated from the show.
Eamon's Business Ventures
Eamon Sullivan always dreamed of owning a restaurant. He even took home economics in high school! After he retired from swimming, he started managing several restaurants in Perth, Western Australia.
- In 2011, Eamon opened a cafe called Louis Baxters in Subiaco. He sold it in 2017.
- In March 2013, he opened Bib & Tucker, a beachside restaurant in North Fremantle. He co-owns it with other athletes, Steve Hooker and Jamie Dwyer.
- In February 2015, Eamon opened May Street Larder in East Fremantle.
- In April 2019, he opened a second May Street Larder location in Mount Hawthorn. This location closed in 2020.
- The Mount Hawthorn site was then turned into two new places: Sammy's, a sandwich bar, and Pogo, a Middle Eastern restaurant.
- In October 2018, Eamon also helped open Goody Two's. This is a Japanese whiskey bar in Perth.
Eamon Sullivan's Personal Life
Eamon Sullivan went to high school at John XXIII College in Perth.
In April 2016, Eamon married Naomi Bass, who is a lawyer. They have two children together. Their son was born in July 2017, and their daughter was born in August 2019.
