Lady Elizabeth Lyon, Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne (born May 1663 – died April 24, 1723), was an important English noblewoman. She became the wife of John Lyon, 4th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, a Scottish peer. Elizabeth was born to Lady Elizabeth Butler and Philip Stanhope, 2nd Earl of Chesterfield. However, some people wondered if her actual father was James, Duke of York, who later became King James II.
Three portraits of Lady Elizabeth were made by Alexander Browne, based on paintings by Sir Peter Lely. You can see these portraits at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
