Enrique Saura Gil, born on August 2, 1954, is a Spanish former football player. He was a talented attacking midfielder. Enrique spent most of his career playing for two teams: Castellón and Valencia. He played over 400 official games for Valencia and helped them win three important championships!
Saura also played for the Spanish national team. He represented Spain in big tournaments like the 1982 FIFA World Cup and Euro 1980.

Enrique Saura's Club Career
Enrique Saura was born in Onda, Castellón, a town in Spain. He played football only in his home region. He started his career at CD Castellón. Later, he moved to the bigger team, Valencia CF.
Playing for Valencia CF
Saura became a very important player for Valencia. He played for them for ten years. During this time, he helped Valencia win three major titles in just one year! One of the biggest wins was the 1979–80 European Cup Winners' Cup. He also scored 37 goals in La Liga, which is Spain's top football league.
Returning to Castellón
After playing for Valencia for ten years, Saura left when he was 31 years old. He went back to his old team, Castellón. He played three more seasons for them in the Segunda División, which is the second division of Spanish football. After that, he joined an amateur team called CD Onda, which was his very first youth club. He retired from football when he was almost 38 years old.
Enrique Saura's International Career
Enrique Saura played 23 games for the Spanish national team. His first game was on November 8, 1978, in a friendly match against France.
Playing in Major Tournaments
During the 1979–80 season, when Valencia was playing very well, Saura became a regular player for the national team. He was chosen to play in both UEFA Euro 1980 and the 1982 FIFA World Cup. In the 1982 World Cup, he scored one of his four international goals. This important goal came in a 2–1 win against Yugoslavia. He had only been on the field for three minutes when he scored!
Saura also represented Spain at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada. The Spanish team was eliminated in the first round of the football tournament at those Olympics.
