Eric Aldwin Bellinger Jr. (born March 27, 1984) is an American R&B singer and songwriter. He started writing songs in 2010. He has helped write many popular songs for famous artists. These include "Lemme See" by Usher, "New Flame" by Chris Brown, and "Right Here" by Justin Bieber. His work on Chris Brown's album F.A.M.E. in 2011 helped him win his first Grammy Award.
Eric Bellinger also sings his own music. He first appeared as a guest singer on an album by Selena Gomez & the Scene in 2010. In 2014, he began his solo singing career. He released his first album, The Rebirth, that year. He has since released many more albums and EPs.

Early Life
Eric Bellinger grew up in Los Angeles, California. He went to school in the Norwalk and Santa Fe Springs areas. There, he met his future manager, Nieman Johnson. Eric Bellinger's grandfather is Bobby Day, who wrote songs for The Jackson 5.
Music Career
Starting as a Songwriter
Eric Bellinger was offered a football scholarship to the University of Southern California. But he chose to follow his dream of music instead. He joined an R&B group called AKNU. In 2010, he was invited to join a group of songwriters called The Writing Camp. His childhood friend and mentor, Erika Nuri, asked him to join.
At first, Bellinger wrote songs for pop artists like Selena Gomez and the Scene, Jacob Latimore, and Big Time Rush. Later, he started working with hip hop artists. He wrote and sang on several songs for the rapper The Game. This helped him become more well-known. He then signed a deal with Sony ATV to publish his songs.
Becoming a Solo Artist
In 2013, Eric Bellinger released a series of three mixtapes called Born II Sing Vol. 1, Born II Sing Vol. 2, and Born II Sing Vol. 3. These helped him share his own voice.
His first full album, The Rebirth, came out in May 2014. It was a double album, meaning it had many songs. This album did well on the R&B and Hip Hop music charts. He then released more albums like Cuffing Season in 2015.
Between 2016 and 2017, Bellinger released a series of EPs (Extended Plays) called Eric B. for President. The name was a nod to the famous song "Eric B. Is President" by Eric B & Rakim. These EPs included both regular and acoustic (unplugged) versions of his songs.
In 2018, he released the album Eazy Call. He also released a special 5-track EP called Meditation Music. This project was inspired by yoga and meditation, which he said helped him a lot.
In 2021, Eric Bellinger released the album New Light. This album was very special because it earned him his first Grammy nomination as a solo artist. In 2022, he announced a new deal with Roc Nation, a big music company. He also sings the theme song for the Sesame Street spin-off show, Mecha Builders.

Personal Life
Eric Bellinger married La'Myia Good on January 1, 2015. They first met in the early 2000s in Los Angeles while working on music. They reconnected years later and got married. Eric and La'Myia have two sons named Elysha and Eazy Bellinger. Eric Bellinger is also the brother-in-law of actress Meagan Good.
