Fabio Novembre's Story
Fabio Novembre moved to Milan, Italy, in 1984. He studied hard and earned a degree in architecture in 1992.
In 1993, he lived in New York City and took a course in filmmaking. This experience might have helped him think creatively about spaces and stories! In 1994, he got his first big job: designing the "Anna Molinari Blumarine" shop in London. That same year, he opened his own design studio in Milan.
From 2000 to 2003, Fabio worked as an Art Director for Bisazza, a company that makes beautiful mosaic tiles. He helped them grow around the world. Since 2001, he has also worked with many well-known Italian design brands. These include Cappellini, Driade, Meritalia, Flaminia, and Casamania.
Cool Exhibitions and Projects
In 2008, a museum in Milan called the Rotonda di Via Besana held a special show about his work. It was called "Teach me the freedom of swallows." The next year, the Triennale Design Museum in Milan asked him to create another exhibition about his designs.
In 2010, Fabio designed an amazing display for the city of Milan at Expo in Shanghai. He helped show off Italy's creativity to the world.
One of his most interesting projects was in 2009. He designed an art installation called Per fare un albero, which means 'To make a tree'. He used 20 full-size fiberglass models of the Fiat 500C cabriolet car as giant planters! These "car trees" were placed along Via Monte Napoleone, a famous fashion street in Milan. The display stayed there for several months.
Fabio also helped with photography exhibitions. In 2011, he was the art director for a show about the Lavazza company's calendar. He also designed and set up an exhibition for the famous photographer Steve McCurry in Rome.
In 2014, the new main office for the A.C. Milan football club, called Casa Milan, opened. Fabio Novembre designed all the cool interiors for this building!
