Facundo Daniel Torres Pérez (born April 13, 2000) is a professional footballer from Uruguay. He plays as an attacking midfielder or winger. Currently, he plays for the Brazilian club Palmeiras and the Uruguay national team.

Early Life and Youth Career

Facundo Torres was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. He grew up in a town called La Paz, Canelones. When he was four, he went to his first football practice. He wasn't very interested at first.

Later, his father took him to La Paz Wanderers. He enjoyed playing there with his friends. After that, he spent a year with Defensor Sporting. At age 10, he was chosen to play in a national championship. There, scouts from Peñarol noticed him. They invited him to join their youth academy.

With Peñarol, Torres traveled to Brazil for a friendly tournament. He was two years younger than some teammates like Federico Valverde. But he still stood out as a great player. He continued to move up quickly through the youth teams. In 2014, he helped Peñarol win an under-15 national title.

In February 2016, at just 15 years old, Torres was invited to train with the professional senior team. An Italian club, Juventus, tried to sign him that same year. But Torres's father thought he was too young to move. So, Torres stayed at Peñarol to keep developing his skills.
