Fair Play is a small city located in the western part of Polk County, Missouri, in the United States. In 2010, about 475 people lived there. It is part of the larger Springfield Metropolitan Area.

History of Fair Play
The first post office in Fair Play opened in 1852. The person who founded the town wanted to name it Oakland. However, there was already another community with that name. So, he decided to call it "Fair Play" instead.
Geography and Location
Fair Play is found where two main roads meet: Missouri Route 32 and Missouri Route 123. The city of Bolivar is about 6.5 miles (10.5 km) to the east. Stockton, which is near Stockton Lake, is about twelve miles (19 km) to the west-northwest.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Fair Play covers a total area of about 0.41 square miles (1.06 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
