Forbes is a small city located in Dickey County, North Dakota, in the state of North Dakota, United States. In 2020, only 36 people lived there.

History of Forbes
Forbes was started in 1905. It was named after Mr. S. F. Forbes, who worked for the railroad and also owned a store in town.
Some important people have connections to Forbes. For example, John Hoeven, who used to be the Governor of North Dakota and is now a US Senator, spent time at his grandparents' ranch here. Also, the father of Navy Rear Admiral Stuart Munsch taught at the Forbes Public School. Some state senators and representatives have also lived in Forbes.
The People's Store in Forbes is famous for its "Forbes Sausage."
In April 2019, Forbes was named "Town of The Week" by KVRR TV. It won this honor by getting 1,406 votes online.
Forbes School History
The Forbes School District had its first graduating class in 1924, with seven students. The school's last graduating class was in 1987, when five students finished their studies.
Forbes Centennial Celebration
In July 2005, thousands of people came to Forbes to celebrate its 100th birthday, called the Forbes Centennial. Special guests included then-Governor John Hoeven and his father, Jack. The North Dakota Attorney General, Wayne Stenehjem, also attended.

Forbes is located right on the border between North Dakota and South Dakota.
The United States Census Bureau says that the city covers about 0.25 square miles (0.63 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the city limits.
