Early Life and Education
Francesco Carrozzini was born in Monza, Italy. His mother was Franca Sozzani, who was the main editor of Italian Vogue. He grew up in Milan, Italy.
When he was a teenager, he started taking photos and making short films with his friends. In 1999, he moved to Los Angeles to study film at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Later, he went back to Italy to study philosophy at the University of Milan. In 2004, he moved to New York City to work as an assistant for famous photographers.
Creative Career
Making Films and Videos
Francesco Carrozzini got his first film job when he was 23. He directed a commercial for the 51st Venice Biennale, which is a big art event. An advertising company asked him to make it. The next year, he went to Poland to make a documentary about a theater group called Theatre Wierszalin.
Later, he worked with The New York Times on a project called "The New York Times Screen Tests." This project featured close-up video interviews with famous actors like Natalie Portman and Charlize Theron. The series was nominated for an award.

It helps support research at Brigham and Women's Hospital at Harvard. This research looks into how our genes can help prevent diseases. The fund was started by selling clothes from his mother's collection after she passed away.
