Garden Township is a community located in Delta County, which is part of the state of Michigan in the United States. It is a type of local government area called a civil township.

In 2020, about 772 people lived here. This was a small increase from 750 people in 2010. Garden Township is also known for having the first wind farm in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, which started in 2012. This wind farm helps create clean energy.

Garden Village

The Village of Garden is a small town located right within the township. It's a central spot for the area.

Garden Corners

Garden Corners is an unincorporated community. This means it's a recognized place, but it doesn't have its own local government like a village or city. It's found on the northeast side of the Big Bay de Noc. You can find it along U.S. Highway 2, which is about 16 kilometers (10 miles) west of Manistique. Garden Corners is also where M-183 begins, connecting it to Garden Village and Fayette further south.

Isabella

Isabella is another unincorporated community in the township. It is located about 6 kilometers (4 miles) west of Garden Corners, also along U.S. Highway 2.

Geography and Natural Features

Garden Township is located on the northern part of the Garden Peninsula. This peninsula has water on both sides. To the west, you'll find the Big Bay de Noc, which opens up into Green Bay. To the east, the township borders Lake Michigan.

The township also stretches northward for about 16 kilometers (10 miles). It forms the entire eastern border between Delta County and Schoolcraft County.

The total area of Garden Township is about 477.6 square kilometers (184.4 square miles). Most of this area, about 414.2 square kilometers (159.9 square miles), is land. The rest, about 63.4 square kilometers (24.5 square miles), is water. This means that about 13% of the township's total area is covered by water.
