Gary Stills (born July 11, 1974) is a former American football player. He played as a defensive end for 10 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Gary played college football for the West Virginia Mountaineers. He was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1999 NFL draft. He also played for the Baltimore Ravens, St. Louis Rams, and Las Vegas Locomotives.

Gary Stills' Early Life and High School Football
Gary Stills grew up in the United States. He went to Valley Forge Military Academy. During his senior year, he was an amazing player. He made 162 tackles and had 7.5 sacks.
College Football Career at West Virginia
Gary Stills played college football at West Virginia University. He was a strong player throughout his college career. He finished with 159 tackles and 26 sacks. Gary studied sports management while in college.
Best College Season in 1997
His best season was in 1997, when he was a junior. That year, he had 12 sacks. In the first game of the season against Marshall, Stills set a school record. He made 4 sacks in that single game! He ended the year with 67 total tackles. Because of his great performance, he earned honors in the all-Big East team.

Gary Stills had a long career in professional football. He played for several teams in the NFL and later in the UFL.
Playing for the Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs picked Gary Stills in the third round of the 1999 NFL draft. This was the 75th player chosen overall. In his first year, he played in only two games. In 2000, he played 11 games, mostly on special teams. He made ten tackles that year.
The next year, in 2001, he had 15 tackles. He also spent some time playing in NFL Europe for the Frankfurt Galaxy. In 2002, he played in all 16 games. He had a career-high 44 tackles and two sacks.
The year 2003 was another good one for Stills. He made 38 tackles and a career-high three sacks. Because of his excellent play, he was chosen for his first Pro Bowl. In 2004, he played in 16 games, making 30 tackles and 2.5 sacks. In his last year with the Chiefs, he recorded 19 tackles. He was well-known for his amazing special teams play. He also had a famous celebration where he would "punch the ground" after tackling a returner. The Chiefs later released Gary Stills.

Time with the Baltimore Ravens
Gary Stills joined the Baltimore Ravens before the 2006 season. In his first year with the Ravens, he played in all 16 games. He set a team record with 44 special teams tackles. In 2007, he again played in 16 games. He finished that season with 15 tackles and one sack. The Ravens released him on August 30, 2008.
Short Stint with the St. Louis Rams
Just two days after leaving the Ravens, Gary Stills signed with the St. Louis Rams. This happened on September 1, 2008.
Playing for the Las Vegas Locomotives
Gary Stills was drafted by the Las Vegas Locomotives on June 18, 2009. He later played for the Omaha Nighthawks in 2010. He won a UFL championship with the Locomotives in 2009.
Gary Stills' Family Life
Gary Stills has two sons who also played football. Both of his sons, Dante and Darius, played college football at West Virginia University. As of July 2025, Dante is a member of the Arizona Cardinals. Darius is currently a free agent.
