Gex is a town in eastern France. It's located in the Ain area, which is like a county. Gex is the main town of the arrondissement (a type of district) called Gex and also of a historical region known as Pays de Gex. It's super close to Switzerland, only about 5 kilometers (3 miles) away from the border, and about 16 kilometers (10 miles) from the big city of Geneva.
