Gladstone got its name from William Ewart Gladstone. He was a very important leader who served as the British Prime Minister many times between 1868 and 1894.

The Gladstone train station was even used in a movie once! In 1962, it was changed to look like "Boston" for the film The Miracle Worker. This Oscar-winning movie shows Anne Bancroft as Annie Sullivan. She boards a train at this station to become Helen Keller's teacher.
