Glen Allen is a small village in central Bollinger County in Southeast Missouri, United States. It is located near the intersection of State Highway 34 and Route ZZ. The village is just west of Marble Hill. In 2020, the population of Glen Allen was 57 people.
Glen Allen is part of the Cape Girardeau–Jackson, MO-IL Metropolitan Statistical Area. This means it's part of a larger area that includes nearby cities.

History of Glen Allen
Glen Allen was settled around the year 1870. It officially became a town in 1906. The village was built along the St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern Railway. This railway was important for transportation and connecting communities back then.
2023 Tornado Event
In the early morning hours of April 5, 2023, a strong tornado hit Glen Allen. It was an EF-2 tornado, which means it had powerful winds. This storm caused a lot of damage throughout the village. Many buildings were destroyed or badly hurt. The tornado also caused injuries to several people. Sadly, five people lost their lives because of the storm.
Glen Allen or Glenallen?
The official legal name of this settlement is "Glen Allen." However, the U.S. Post Office uses a slightly different spelling: "Glenallen." This single-word spelling was also used for the original train station of the St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern Railway.
Today, most people who live in the area call it "Glen Allen." The U.S. Census Bureau also uses "Glen Allen." However, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the State of Missouri sometimes use both names when referring to the community.

Glen Allen's Population in 2010
Based on the census from 2010, there were 85 people living in Glen Allen. These people lived in 35 different households. Out of these, 26 were families. The village had about 1,416.7 people per square mile. There were also 49 housing units, which are places where people can live.
Most of the people in the village (96.47%) were White. A small number (1.18%) were Black or African American. About 2.35% of the population identified as being from two or more races.
About 28.6% of the households had children under 18 years old living with them. More than half (57.1%) were married couples living together. Some households had a female head without a husband (14.3%). A very small number (2.9%) had a male head without a wife. About 25.7% of households were not families.
The average age of people in the village was 39.9 years old. About 21.2% of residents were under 18. About 11.8% were between 18 and 24. People aged 25 to 44 made up 24.8% of the population. Those aged 45 to 64 were 23.6%. Finally, 18.8% of residents were 65 years or older. The village had slightly more females (52.9%) than males (47.1%).

- Madison Roswell Smith was born on a farm near Glen Allen. He became a U.S. ambassador to Haiti. An ambassador is a high-ranking diplomat who represents their country in another nation. - James Fulton Zimmerman was born in Glen Allen. He was known as an educator and a historian.
- Orville Zimmerman was born on a farm near Glen Allen. He was a United States Representative for Missouri's 10th congressional district from 1935 to 1948.
