Glen Edward Day, born on November 16, 1965, is an American professional golfer. He plays on the PGA Tour Champions, which is a golf tour for players aged 50 and over. Before that, he was a member of the PGA Tour.

Glen Day's Early Life and Golf Start

Glen Day was born in Mobile, Alabama. He grew up in Poplarville, Mississippi, with his mother, Jeanne Bass Day. Glen's mother became a widow when he was about two years old. His grandfather, Glyndol Bass, was a very important male role model for him.

Glyndol Bass loved golf and was a member of the Pearl River Valley Country Club. He introduced Glen to golf when Glen was only two or three years old. By the time Glen was 10, he was already a very good golfer. He had a "5 handicap," which means he could usually shoot close to par (the expected score) on 18 holes.

In 1983, Glen graduated from Poplarville High School. After high school, he went to the University of Oklahoma.

Glen Day's Professional Golf Career

Glen Day became a professional golfer in 1988. He achieved his biggest win in 1999 at the MCI Classic. He won this tournament by beating another famous golfer, Payne Stewart, in a playoff. This was his first and only win on the PGA Tour, and it happened in his 154th tournament start!

In 2000, Glen had a great start to the season. He finished tied for 8th place in the Mercedes Championship. The next year, in 2001, he continued to play well. He finished 4th in the MasterCard Colonial and tied for 6th in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

As he got older, Glen played on both the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. After he turned 50, he joined the PGA Tour Champions.

Glen Day's Nickname: "All Day"

Glen Day is known for playing golf very carefully and sometimes slowly. Because of this, the famous golfer Jack Nicklaus gave him the nickname "All Day." Glen is one of the few golfers who has received a penalty for slow play in a regular tournament. This happened at the 1995 Honda Classic.

Glen Day as a Golf Course Designer

Besides playing golf, Glen Day is also a golf course architect. In 1999, he started a company called Day-Blalock Golf Course Design with Alan Blalock. This means he helps design and build golf courses!

Glen Day was also ranked among the top 50 golfers in the world. He reached his highest ranking, 30th, in the year 2000.
