Allah facts for kids
The word Allah is the Arabic word for God. It is mostly used to talk about the God of Islam. But in the Middle East, people from other religions sometimes use this same word for their God.
In Islam, "Allah" is the most important word for God. Muslims believe there is only one God. They use many names, like the 99 Names of God, to describe God. But "Allah" is the most common name and includes all the others.
When a Muslim says "Allah," they think of God as being one and perfect. They believe God has no mistakes or partners. Muslims often use "Allah" when they are praying.
Muslims believe that God made everything. They see God as the only judge and the one with all power. They also believe Allah created the heavens and the Earth just by saying "Kun," which means "Be."
Some Arab Christians in the Middle East also call God "Allah." Most Arab Christians, like other Christians, believe in the Trinity. This means they believe God is three persons in one. Most Muslims, however, believe that Allah cannot be three persons. They believe God is only one.
