Prayer facts for kids

Prayer is a way people talk to God or to a higher power. Many people believe their prayers are heard and answered. Stories about answered prayers are found in old religious books like the Old Testament and New Testament. Over time, many churches and everyday people have also shared stories of miracles and special help that came from prayer. People pray because they believe in the power of their words and thoughts. For example, Jesus taught his followers a special prayer called the Lord's Prayer.
