Goosebumps Series 2000 facts for kids
Goosebumps Series 2000 was a special spin-off of the super popular R. L. Stine Goosebumps books. These books had different covers from the original series. The amazing cover art was still done by Tim Jacobus.
One big change was on the back of the books. Instead of a short summary, you'd find exciting parts taken right from the story. Also, the famous warning "Reader Beware, You're In For A Scare!" was changed. For Series 2000, it said "2000 Times The Scares!" and "Welcome to the new millennium of fear."
Only 25 books were released in this series. This was because of a disagreement between R.L. Stine and the publisher, Scholastic. Some other stories he wrote were published later, but not as Goosebumps books.
The covers of Series 2000 books had a cool feature. The main picture, the title, and R. L. Stine's name were printed in a raised way. This made them feel different. Only Goosebumps HorrorLand books also had this special raised printing.
Sequels to Goosebumps Books
Some books in the Goosebumps Series 2000 continued stories from the original Goosebumps series. Here are a few of those exciting sequels:
- Bride of the Living Dummy and Slappy's Nightmare (these followed Night of the Living Dummy III)
- Return to HorrorLand (this was a sequel to One Day at HorrorLand)
- Return to Ghost Camp (this continued the story from Ghost Camp)
TV Show Episodes
The first two books from Goosebumps Series 2000 were made into episodes for the Goosebumps television show. Cry of the Cat was a special two-part episode. Bride of the Living Dummy also became a TV episode.
