Welcome to Mizoram! This special state is located in the northeastern part of India. Like other states in India, Mizoram has a leader called a Governor. The Governor is a very important person who represents the President of India in the state. They help make sure the state government works smoothly and follows the rules.

What Does a Governor Do?
The Governor has several important jobs and powers to help run the state. Think of them as having three main types of powers:
- Executive Powers: These are about managing the state. The Governor helps appoint important officials and makes sure the government's daily work gets done.
- Legislative Powers: These powers are about making laws. The Governor plays a role in the state's law-making body, like the Vidhan Sabha (State Assembly). They can approve new laws or send them back for review.
- Discretionary Powers: Sometimes, the Governor has to make decisions on their own, especially in special situations. These are called discretionary powers, meaning they can use their best judgment.
Mizoram Before It Became a State
Before Mizoram became a full state in 1987, it was a Union Territory. During that time, it had leaders called Chief Commissioners and then Lieutenant Governors. These leaders helped govern the territory.

Governors of Mizoram State
