Greenblatt's, also known as Greenblatt's Deli & Fine Wines, was a famous Jewish delicatessen. It opened in 1926 and was located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California. This popular spot served delicious food for 95 years. It closed its doors in August 2021. Many people, including The Hollywood Reporter, called Greenblatt's an "iconic LA restaurant."

History of Greenblatt's Deli

Greenblatt's Deli & Fine Wine Shop first started in South Central Los Angeles. This area used to have a large Jewish community. Later, the deli moved to its well-known spot on the Sunset Strip. Herman Greenblatt opened the deli in 1926. In 1946, he sold it to the Kavin family. The Kavin family owned Greenblatt's for 75 years until it closed in 2021.

Why Greenblatt's Closed

After 95 years of serving customers, Greenblatt's Deli closed on August 12, 2021. Jeff Kavin, the owner for a long time, decided to close the deli. He wanted to close it gracefully. This happened just before the busy High Holiday season. This season usually brought many catering orders.
