History of Grimes
The town of Grimes got its name from Cleaton Grimes. He was the person who first got the land for the town in 1844. The local post office in Grimes started its operations in 1883.
A special place in Grimes is the Cecil Ranch. Its main house was built in 1909 and designed by an architect. This ranch is so important that it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's recognized for its historical value and unique architecture.
