Hadley Township is a community located in Lapeer County, Michigan, in the United States. It's a type of local government area called a civil township. In 2020, about 4,547 people lived here. The township was officially organized in March 1836.

Communities in Hadley Township
Hadley Township is home to several smaller communities. Some of these have their own unique history.
Cadyville
Cadyville was an area that grew around a school house built in 1838. It had its own school district starting in 1842. This district covered the southwest part of the township. Later, it became part of other school districts.
Farmers Creek
Farmers Creek is a small, unincorporated community. It is located on the border between Metamora Township and Hadley Township. The community is named after a nearby stream. John L. Morse bought land here in 1833. He settled in the area in 1834. Morse became the first postmaster in 1836. The post office operated until 1903.
Hadley
Hadley is another unincorporated community. It is found in the northern part of the township. William Hart, Abraham Tunison, and Charles L. Cambell settled here in 1835. A post office opened in Hadley on May 7, 1838. John Mills, Jr. was the first postmaster. For about 50 years, someone from the Hadley family held the postmaster job. The Hadley post office uses ZIP code 48440 for P.O. box service.
