Hadrien Feraud (born August 16, 1984) is a talented jazz bassist from France. He is known for his amazing skills on the electric bass.

About Hadrien Feraud

Early Life and Music

Hadrien Feraud grew up in a musical family. His parents were also musicians. This meant he was surrounded by many types of music from a young age. He heard rock 'n roll, blues, funk, R&B, new wave, and jazz.

Hadrien started learning guitar at age 8. His father taught him. He also loved listening to music from movies. By age ten, he was learning bass parts from famous bands. These included Earth, Wind & Fire and music from the Motown era. He also listened to The Police, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson.

Discovering the Bass

At first, Hadrien wanted to play drums. But everything changed when he was 12. He received an album called The Birthday Concert by Jaco Pastorius. After hearing Jaco play, Hadrien was inspired.

He then focused on studying the electric bass. He learned from many great bass players. Some of these included Jaco Pastorius, James Jamerson, and Bernard Edwards. He also studied Nathan East, Christian McBride, and Richard Bona.

Hadrien's Musical Journey

Starting His Own Music

In late 2004, Hadrien began writing his own songs. This was for his first solo music project. At the same time, he played at many clubs in Paris. He also joined jam sessions with other musicians.

Working with Famous Musicians

In 2005, the famous guitarist John McLaughlin invited Hadrien to play. Hadrien played on two songs for McLaughlin's album Industrial Zen. This was a very important meeting for Hadrien.

In 2006, Hadrien finished his first solo album. It was simply called Hadrien Feraud. Many guest musicians played on it. These included John McLaughlin and Biréli Lagrène.

Tours and Collaborations

In 2007, Hadrien joined Chick Corea's trio. They went on tour in North America and Canada. A European tour followed in 2009. He was part of John McLaughlin and the 4th Dimension band.

Hadrien also helped create and put together Biréli Lagrène's album Electric Side.

On Tour Around the World

Hadrien Feraud has toured with many great artists.

  • 2012 and 2013: He toured in the US and Europe with the Dean Brown Band.
  • 2013: He toured with Chick Corea & The Vigil. The band included Chick Corea on keyboards and Hadrien Feraud on bass.
  • 2016: He went on a World Tour with Lee Ritenour.
  • 2017: He toured the world with Hiromi Uehara.
  • 2018: He toured again with Lee Ritenour.
