Haggart Creek is a small waterway, often called a creek, located in Ontario, Canada. It flows through a region known as Northeastern Ontario, specifically in the Cochrane District. This creek is part of a very large water system that eventually drains into James Bay. It acts as a "tributary," meaning it flows into a bigger river, the Poplar Rapids River.
Where Haggart Creek Flows
Haggart Creek starts its journey in a quiet, unnamed forest. From there, it flows north until it reaches the southern shore of Haggart Lake. The creek then continues its path, exiting Haggart Lake from its northern side and still heading north.
As it travels, Haggart Creek passes through two more small, unnamed lakes. After these lakes, the creek changes direction, turning west. For a part of its journey, it flows alongside important transportation routes: Ontario Highway 11 and the Ontario Northland Railway. These are both located to the north of the creek.
Finally, Haggart Creek reaches its end point, which is called its "mouth." Here, it joins the Poplar Rapids River. This meeting point is found southeast of a small community named Departure Lake. The water from the Poplar Rapids River then flows into the Mattagami River, which in turn joins the Moose River. All these rivers eventually carry the water to James Bay.
