Hamburger Stand is a popular fast food restaurant chain. It is mostly found in the western United States. This restaurant is known for its low-cost burgers.
Hamburger Stand also offers items from its sister companies. You can find Wienerschnitzel hot dogs and Tastee-Freez desserts at some locations. The chain has restaurants in Arizona, California, Colorado, and Wyoming.
The Story of Hamburger Stand
Hamburger Stand began its journey in 1982. It was started in Garden Grove, California. The company that owns Hamburger Stand is called The Galardi Group. This group also owns Wienerschnitzel.
How it Started
In the late 1970s, Wienerschnitzel tried to sell hamburgers. However, these burgers were not very popular. So, in 1983, The Galardi Group decided to try something new. They created two new restaurant chains. One was called The Original Hamburger Stand. The other was Weldon's gourmet hamburgers. Weldon's was later closed in the 1990s.
Early Days and Prices
Some Wienerschnitzel restaurants that were not doing well were changed into Hamburger Stands. This happened in places like the Denver area. When Hamburger Stand first opened, its prices were very low. Hamburgers, french fries, and drinks each cost only 39 cents!
