Harwich Port (sometimes spelled Harwichport) is a small, rich seaside town in Massachusetts, United States. It is located on the Nantucket Sound in a larger town called Harwich. Harwich Port is part of Barnstable County. It got its name from the port of Harwich in Essex, England.
In 2010, about 1,644 people lived here. Harwich Port is a popular place for vacations on Cape Cod. It is home to the Wychmere Beach Club and the Allen Harbor Yacht Club. A popular saying for the town is "Three Harbors, One Port." This refers to Saquatucket, Wychmere, and Allen Harbor, which are all found in Harwich Port. A well-known person from here is Bill O'Brien, a former coach for the Houston Texans American football team.

Exploring Harwich Port's Location
Harwich Port is in the southeastern part of the town of Harwich. Its exact location is 41°40′5″N 70°4′9″W / 41.66806°N 70.06917°W. To the south, it touches the Nantucket Sound. To the west, it borders Northwest Harwich. Harwich Center is to its north, and East Harwich is to its northeast. The town of Chatham is to its east.
Two important harbors, Saquatucket and Wychmere Harbors, are inside Harwich Port. Allen Harbor is nearby and has a Harwich Port mailing address. However, it is actually located in the Northwest Harwich area.

The United States Census Bureau says that Harwich Port covers a total area of about 9.0 square kilometers (2.88 square miles). Most of this area is land, about 6.8 square kilometers (2.63 square miles). The rest, about 2.2 square kilometers (0.25 square miles), is water. This means that about 24% of Harwich Port's total area is water.

In the year 2000, there were 1,809 people living in Harwich Port. These people lived in 1,000 households. About 485 of these households were families. The population density was about 265.6 people per square kilometer. There were 2,279 housing units, with about 334.6 units per square kilometer.
Most of the people living in Harwich Port in 2000 were White (97.73%). A small number were African American (0.61%), Native American (0.11%), or Asian (0.06%). During the summer, the number of people in Harwich Port almost doubles because many tourists come to visit.
