Hashem Beikzadeh (Persian: هاشم بیک زاده) is a former Iranian football player. He was born on January 22, 1984, in Tehran. Hashem played as a defender. After retiring as a player, he became an assistant coach for Baadraan Tehran F.C..
Club Career
Hashem Beikzadeh started his football journey at the Fajr Sepasi youth academy. This is where young players learn and train to become professional footballers. He joined the main team for the 2005-2006 season. He quickly became one of Fajr's most important players.
Later, he moved to Esteghlal, a big club in Iran. In his first season there, he helped the team win the league championship. Even though he didn't play in many games that season, he was part of the winning squad.
On July 8, 2014, Beikzadeh signed a new contract with Esteghlal. This meant he would stay with the club until 2016. However, on July 26, 2015, he decided to leave Esteghlal. He then joined Saba Qom. Throughout his club career, Hashem played in 285 matches and scored 21 goals.
International Career
Hashem Beikzadeh also played for the Iran national team, which is often called Team Melli. He played his first international match in August 2006. This was a friendly game against the UAE.
He was chosen to play for Team Melli again in 2007. This was for the West Asian Football Federation Championship 2007 in Amman, Jordan. He scored his first goal for Iran on June 24, 2007. It was in the final match against Iraq, which Iran won 2-1.
Hashem was also called up for the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying games. He played as a left back against Kuwait. In 2014, he was selected for Iran's squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup by coach Carlos Queiroz. Unfortunately, he was injured and couldn't play in the tournament. Another player, Mehrdad Pooladi, took his spot.
He was also chosen for Iran's team for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup. This was on December 30, 2014. However, he got injured again just days before the first match in Australia. Mohammad Reza Khanzadeh replaced him in the squad. Overall, Hashem played 20 matches for the national team and scored 1 goal.
Personal Life
Hashem Beikzadeh is married and has two daughters. His family comes from Ardabil Province in Iran. They are Iranian Azerbaijani.
