Hello Panda is a popular brand of crunchy Japanese biscuit treats made by Meiji Seika. These bite-sized snacks were first created in Japan in 1987 under the friendly name Konnichiwa Panda. Today, boys and girls enjoy these sweet snacks all across the globe.

How Hello Panda Became a Worldwide Snack
When Hello Panda first arrived in stores, many other bakeries made similar treats. Because of tough market competition, Meiji Seika decided to stop selling the snacks in Japan in 1989. However, the company knew that snack lovers in other countries would adore them.
In 1991, Meiji began baking the biscuits in Singapore so they could ship them around the world. Soon, children in China, Australia, and Kuwait could buy them at local markets. Today, trucks and ships deliver Hello Panda to many places across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Some places even have special recipes made just for them, such as crunchy chocolate pretzels.

Hello Panda cookies usually come inside a bright, six-sided cardboard box shaped like a hexagon. A standard box often weighs about 2 ounces, which is around 57.5 grams. Inside, the treats stay fresh and safe from breaking during transport.
