Hendrum is a small city in Norman County, Minnesota, United States. It is located in the flat Red River Valley area. This valley is found between two rivers, the Red River of the North and the Wild Rice River. In 2020, about 289 people lived in Hendrum.

A Look Back: Hendrum's Story

Hendrum was first planned in 1881. Its original spot was about two miles north of where it is today. This first location was near a big railroad bridge.

However, there were some problems with the railroad company. Because of this, the village was moved to its current location. The name "Hendrum" comes from a town in Norway called Hindrumgaard. This was the hometown of Johannes Hagen, an early settler. The village officially became a city in 1891.
