Hilltown is a small village located in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is the main village of the Clonduff parish, which also includes the rural area of Cabra. In 2011, about 1,709 people called Hilltown home. The village is known for its strong Irish culture and its active local sports club, Clonduff GAC.

History of Hilltown
Hilltown was established in 1766. It was named after the powerful Hill family. This English family also gave their name to other nearby places like Hillhall and Hillsborough.
The Hill family created the village to help people find jobs. Many people worked in the linen industry, which was very important back then.
Over time, Hilltown became a place where Irish culture is very important. The local Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club, Clonduff GAC, plays a big part in the community.

On March 27, 2011, a census counted the people living in Hilltown. Here's what they found:

Hilltown and the area around it have some cool places to visit.
- Goward Dolmen is an ancient stone monument. It's about two miles from Hilltown on the road to Castlewellan. People sometimes call it Pat Kearney's Big Stone. It has a huge granite capstone that has moved from its original spot.
- The St Johns Church of Ireland is right in the middle of the village. The Marquess of Downshire built this church in the 1700s.

There are two main primary schools that serve the children of Hilltown and the surrounding area.
- St. Patrick's Primary School, Hilltown is a large primary school. It has over 320 students. After finishing here, most students go on to high schools in Newry, Castlewellan, or Warrenpoint.
- St. Paul's Primary School, Cabra is a smaller school. It's located in Cabra, which is part of the Clonduff parish. Like St. Patrick's, most of its students continue their education in high schools in Newry, Castlewellan, or Warrenpoint.
Sports in Hilltown
Clonduff GAC (Chluain Daimh CLG) is the main sports club in the Hilltown area. It's a very active club with 23 teams! They play many different sports, including:

- Handball
The club also takes part in cultural events called Scór and Scór na nÓg. Clonduff GAC is special because it's the only club in the county that has teams competing in all five of these Gaelic sports.
