Exploring Hirstglen's Landscape
Hirstglen is nestled in a special part of Australia. Its northern and eastern edges follow the Great Dividing Range. This huge mountain range acts like a natural wall. It separates rivers that flow inland from rivers that flow towards the Coral Sea on the coast.
A small river called Kings Creek forms part of Hirstglen's southern border. This creek eventually joins the larger Condamine River.
Two main roads cross through Hirstglen. The Gatton–Clifton Road goes from north to south. The Greenmount-Hirstvale Road comes in from the west.
The land in Hirstglen is used for two main things. People raise animals by letting them graze on natural plants. They also grow crops in the fields.
A Glimpse into Hirstglen's Past
Hirstglen once had its own school! The Hirstglen State School opened its doors on May 6, 1930. It was located on the southern side of Hirstglen Road. However, the school closed down on February 22, 1948.
