In April 2009, Hollie Steel auditioned for the third series of Britain's Got Talent. For her first TV performance, she began with ballet dancing. Her voice was surprisingly strong, which stopped him.

Hollie's next single, with two songs, came out on November 22, 2010. The first song was "When Christmas Comes to Town". This is a cover from the 2004 movie The Polar Express. Its music video became very popular on YouTube. The second song was "O Holy Night". Hollie also released a special Christmas album in 2010 called A Christmas Wish. It had six songs and a DVD.

On December 4, 2010, Hollie performed "O Mio Babbino Caro" and "O Holy Night" at Carnegie Hall in New York.
