Hopewell Valley Vineyards is a special place in Hopewell Township, New Jersey, where they grow grapes and make wine. It's located in Mercer County, and its mailing address is Pennington.

The first grapevines were planted here in 2001. The winery then opened its doors to visitors in 2003. Hopewell Valley Vineyards has 25 acres of land where they grow grapes. Each year, they produce about 6,000 cases of wine. A "case" usually means 12 bottles of wine. The winery gets its name from the beautiful valley where it is located.

Types of Wines and Other Products

Hopewell Valley Vineyards makes wine from many different kinds of grapes. Some of these include Barbera, Brachetto, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chambourcin, Chardonnay, Merlot, Muscat blanc, Pinot gris, Sangiovese, and Vidal blanc.

Unique Offerings

Besides wine, Hopewell Valley Vineyards also sells delicious pizzas cooked in a brick oven. They even make their own olive oil! This special olive oil comes from olives grown in Tuscany, a region in Italy.

One very unique thing about this winery is that it's the only one in New Jersey that makes wine from Brachetto grapes. Brachetto is a red grape that comes from the Piedmont region of Italy. It's often used to make sparkling wines, which are bubbly like soda.

How the Winery Operates

Hopewell Valley Vineyards has a special permit called a "plenary winery license." This license is from the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. It allows the winery to make as much wine as they want. It also lets them have up to 15 other places to sell their wine. They can even ship up to 12 cases of wine per year to customers both inside and outside of New Jersey.

The winery is also a member of the Garden State Wine Growers Association. This group helps connect wineries across New Jersey and promotes the state's wine industry.
