Hotel Trubble is a funny British TV show for kids. It's a sitcom made by the BBC and shown on CBBC. The show is about the crazy things that happen at a hotel. It stars Dominique Moore as Sally, the receptionist, and Sam Phillips as Jamie, the bellboy. Gary Damer plays Lenny, and Tanya Franks is Dolly. Sheila Bernette plays Mrs. Poshington, a guest who never leaves. The show is a farce, which means it has lots of silly and over-the-top situations. There were 39 episodes in total, shown between December 2008 and August 2011. Many famous guest stars appeared, like Miranda Hart and Les Dennis. Reruns of the show haven't been on CBBC since late 2013.

Meet the Characters of Hotel Trubble

Jamie: The Sensible Bellboy

Jamie is the bellboy at Hotel Trubble. He's usually the most sensible person there. But sometimes, he lacks confidence and can panic easily. When he panics, he often does embarrassing things. He's usually the first to shout "Noooooo!" when things go wrong. Jamie is sensitive and cares a lot. He even once shouted, "Don't hurt the woman I love!" about Sally. Later, he quickly changed his mind! Jamie and Sally are technically married because of a funny mix-up with a fake vicar. Jamie loves his job so much that he almost always wears his uniform.

Sally: The Glamorous Receptionist

Sally is the hotel's receptionist. She can be a bit bossy and sometimes proud. But she usually means well and is quite smart. Sally finds working at the hotel a bit boring. She prefers to read gossip magazines in her free time. She dreams of being an actress or dancer, even though she's not very good. Her only acting role was playing a sheep in a school play! Sally and Jamie sometimes show they like each other.

Lenny: The Funny Helper

Leonard "Lenny" Lemon is the funniest character in the group. He often makes people laugh with his silly actions. Lenny isn't the smartest of the staff. He often messes things up for his friends. He also asks strange people for advice and takes things too literally. But Lenny is kind-hearted and tries hard. Even if his efforts don't always go to plan!

Dolly: The Manager's Fiancee

Dolly is Mr. Trubble's fiancee and first appeared in the second series. She is a rich woman and acts as the hotel's manager. Dolly often comes up with strange business ideas. These include a toilet made of flowers and fancy parties. She isn't very clever, and Mrs. Poshington, Jamie, and Sally don't really like her. Lenny gets along with her best because they both have low common sense. In series 3, it's found out she used to be a famous singer in Japan called "Yolly Dolly".

Mrs. Poshington: The Permanent Guest

Mrs. Poshington is a guest who literally never leaves the hotel. Every morning, she asks silly questions. She claims to be a marathon runner and even the Queen's cousin! She also says she's a former actress and a grandmother. Sometimes, she helps Sally, Lenny, and Jamie solve their problems. Mrs. Poshington can be demanding but is also kind and determined. She loses all her money in series 2. So, she becomes the hotel's cleaner to stay. She's not a great cleaner, often breaking things!

General Sirius Poshington: The Stuffed Cat

General Sirius Poshington is Mrs. Poshington's fake stuffed cat. Mrs. Poshington doesn't seem to know he's not real. She pushes him around on a wagon. She talks about him as if he's alive, saying things like, "Sirius doesn't like running, he likes the cycling trips we go on together." She even asks Sally to look after him and calls often to check on him.

Mr. Trubble: The Boss on the Phone

Mr. Trubble owns Hotel Trubble. He calls the hotel very often on a special red phone that has a siren instead of a ring. He once threatened to fire Sally, Jamie, and Lenny if they didn't throw him a good birthday party. Mr. Trubble is never seen. You only hear his loud, unclear voice over the phone. He's a bit like the General in the cartoon Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines.

Chef: The Unseen Cook

Like Mr. Trubble, the Chef is never seen. You only hear his loud, unclear voice from behind the kitchen doors. He seems to be very angry. Whenever Jamie or Lenny go into the kitchen to talk to him, there's a lot of shouting. They always come out looking scared or covered in food! He is French.

Daisy: The New Receptionist

Daisy becomes the new receptionist in series 3. She first appears in the episode "American President." Daisy is an animal rights activist. She kidnapped an elephant from London Zoo and is hiding from the police. Daisy plans to sneak the elephant, named Trunky, back to the jungle. She hid Trunky in room 360. The other characters don't know about this, even though they hear elephant noises! Daisy told them Sally found out her secret. So, Daisy sent Sally to Guatemala to keep her quiet. The others get a postcard from Sally saying "DON'T TRUST THE RECEPTIONIST!" but Daisy says it means "Ahh, lovely time" in Guatemalan.

Note: The actress who plays Sally, Dominique Moore, had to leave the show during series 3 for medical treatment. The show's writers changed the story so Sally wouldn't have to appear. This is why Daisy was introduced, and Sally's absence was explained by Daisy sending her to Guatemala.
