Blue Peter Years
On 13 December 2010, it was announced that Barnaby would join Blue Peter. He became a new presenter on the famous show.
Barnaby had a very successful time on Blue Peter, staying for six and a half years. This made him one of the longest-serving presenters. He became well-known for his funny jokes and playful actions.
He often used his catchphrase, "I want one!" He also gave out funny prizes in the show's game "Spot Shelley". These prizes included a house in Spain and a unicorn named Colin! His different hairstyles were also popular with viewers.
Barnaby is good at cycling and loves coffee and music. He also enjoys photography and camping in his campervan. But he has a fear of frogs! On his first Blue Peter show, Steve Backshall made him hold one. On his last show, he even had to kiss a frog to conquer his fear.
In early 2016, Barnaby took a break from Blue Peter but returned later that year. In August 2017, it was announced he would leave the show. His final Blue Peter episode aired on 14 September 2017.
On his last show, Barnaby was given a Blue Peter Gold Badge. This is the highest award the show gives. His co-presenter, Radzi Chingyanganya, said Barnaby was "at the very top of the list." After 16 years, Barnaby also left CBBC to start "new adventures."
