Huntington is a city located in Angelina County, Texas, in the United States. In 2020, about 2,025 people lived there. The city is named after Collis Potter Huntington. He was an important leader of the Southern Pacific Railroad when the town was first created. Huntington is often called the "Gateway to Lake Sam Rayburn."

Huntington's Location and Size
Huntington is found in the eastern part of Angelina County. U.S. Route 69 goes right through the city. This road leads about 10 miles northwest to Lufkin, which is the county seat. It also goes south about 40 miles to Woodville and 96 miles to Beaumont.
The city covers a total area of about 7.1 square kilometers (2.75 square miles). Most of this area is land, with only a very small part (about 0.36%) being water.
