The iPhone 5C is a smartphone made by Apple Inc.. It has a touchscreen and was released after the iPhone 5. Apple introduced the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S at an event on September 10, 2013. Both phones became available on September 20, 2013. After these new phones came out, the iPhone 5 was no longer sold.
The iPhone 5C first came with iOS 7. This was the newest version of Apple's mobile operating system at the time. Later, on June 2, 2014, Apple announced that the iPhone 5C would get iOS 8. This update was released on September 17, 2014.
The iPhone 5C is very similar to the iPhone 5 in its internal parts. However, it has a slightly larger battery. A big difference is its colorful plastic outer shell. The iPhone 5 and 5S use a metal casing, but the 5C came in five bright colors: blue, green, pink, yellow, and white.
History of the iPhone 5C
Apple officially announced the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S at a special event. This event took place at Apple's headquarters on September 10, 2013.
The iPhone 5C was sold at a lower price compared to the iPhone 5S. For example, in the United States, the 16 GB iPhone 5C cost $99 with a two-year phone contract. Without a contract, it sold for $549. An 8 GB version of the iPhone 5C was released on March 18, 2014. This smaller storage version was sold in a few countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, and China.
