Inchelium (which sounds like N̓čaʔlíwm̓ in the local language) is a special kind of community called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a place the government counts for population, but it's not an officially organized city or town. It's located in Ferry County, Washington, United States.
Inchelium is part of the Colville Indian Reservation, which is a special area set aside for the Colville Tribes. In 2020, about 431 people lived here.
The town of Inchelium wasn't always in its current spot. In the early 1940s, the original town, known as Old Inchelium, was located right by the Columbia River. However, when the huge Grand Coulee Dam was built, the water behind the dam began to rise. This meant the old town would be flooded, so it had to be moved to a new, higher location.

Inchelium is located in the state of Washington. Only a very small part of this area, about 0.04 square miles (0.1 square kilometers), is water.
