As a child, Sainz loved playing sports. Her mother also encouraged her to try modeling. She started by appearing in TV commercials for well-known companies.

For her education, Sainz studied law at the Universidad del Valle de México. She later earned a master's degree in tax law and another degree in sports business.

Major Sporting Events

Sainz has reported from many major international sports events. By 2006, she had already covered three Champions League finals, four NBA Finals, the 2004 Athens Olympics, and the 2006 World Cup.

She is also a regular at the Super Bowl, the championship game of American football. She has covered the event many times since her first one in 2002. At the Super Bowl media day, she is often one of the most popular reporters.

A Difficult Moment

In 2010, Sainz faced a challenging situation while working. She was at the NY Jets practice facility to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez. While she was on the sidelines, some players and coaches threw footballs in her direction.

Later, in the locker room, she was the target of unprofessional comments. She tweeted that she felt "uncomfortable." Other reporters confirmed that team members were making rude remarks. After the incident became public, the owner of the Jets, Woody Johnson, gave her a personal apology.

Sainz said the event was difficult for her. However, the publicity also made her one of the most well-known journalists in Mexico and Latin America at the time.
