Itasca (say "eye-TAS-kuh") is a small city in Hill County, located in the northern part of Central Texas, United States. In 2020, about 1,562 people lived there.

History of Itasca
Itasca started as a railroad station in 1881. It was built for the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad. The city officially became a town in 1885.
A fun fact: In the 1984 movie Songwriter, the character played by Willie Nelson jokingly says he's going to "a weavers convention in Itasca, Texas."
Where is Itasca Located?
Itasca covers about 1.2 square miles (3.2 square kilometers) of land. The city's special saying, seen on signs and its website, is "The Big Little Town."
Itasca is located right off I-35W. It's south of Fort Worth and north of Waco. This makes Itasca almost exactly halfway between these two larger cities.
