Jamall Leantwean Emmers, born on July 24, 1989, is an American mixed martial artist. He is known for competing in the Featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Jamall Emmers' Early Life

Jamall Emmers loved watching mixed martial arts (MMA) fights with his dad and brother. His dad would even rent tapes of old fights for them to enjoy. This passion for MMA inspired Jamall to join his high school wrestling team. He wanted to build a strong base for a future career in MMA.

Jamall Emmers' MMA Journey

Starting His Career

Jamall Emmers started his professional MMA career in 2012. He quickly built a strong record in smaller American fighting leagues. He won 13 of his first 16 fights. During this time, he even defeated two fighters, Alexander Hernandez and Cory Sandhagen, who later joined the UFC.

In 2018, Jamall got a chance to join the UFC through a show called Dana White's Contender Series. He fought Julian Erosa and even knocked him down in the first round. However, Jamall lost the fight in the second round.

Joining the UFC

After his loss on the Contender Series, Jamall Emmers won four fights in a row. This impressive winning streak helped him get signed by the UFC. His first UFC fight was on March 7, 2020, at UFC 248. He faced Giga Chikadze and lost the fight by a close decision.

Jamall's next fight was on August 1, 2020. He won this fight against Vince Cachero by a unanimous decision, meaning all the judges agreed he was the winner.

In 2021, Jamall was set to fight Chas Skelly. However, the fight was canceled right before it started because Jamall had back spasms and could not compete. Later that year, on August 28, 2021, he fought Pat Sabatini. Jamall knocked Sabatini down early, but then Sabatini caught him in a special hold called a heel hook, and Jamall had to give up.

Recent Fights

Jamall Emmers was scheduled to fight Daniel Pineda in May 2022, but that fight was also canceled.

On February 18, 2023, Jamall fought Khusein Askhabov and won by unanimous decision. This was a big win for him.

His next fight was on June 24, 2023, against Jack Jenkins. Jamall lost this fight by a split decision, which means the judges were not in full agreement. Interestingly, all 10 media experts who scored the fight thought Jamall should have won.

On November 11, 2023, Jamall fought Dennis Buzukja at UFC 295. Jamall weighed a little more than the limit for his weight class, so he had to give up some of his prize money. Despite this, he won the fight very quickly by TKO (Technical Knockout) in the first minute of the first round.

On March 30, 2024, Jamall faced Nate Landwehr. He lost this fight by knockout in the first round.

Most recently, on March 29, 2025, Jamall Emmers fought Gabriel Miranda. He won the fight by technical knockout in the first round.
