Jamall Emmers' MMA Journey
Starting His Career
Jamall Emmers started his professional MMA career in 2012. He quickly built a strong record in smaller American fighting leagues. He won 13 of his first 16 fights. During this time, he even defeated two fighters, Alexander Hernandez and Cory Sandhagen, who later joined the UFC.
In 2018, Jamall got a chance to join the UFC through a show called Dana White's Contender Series. He fought Julian Erosa and even knocked him down in the first round. However, Jamall lost the fight in the second round.
Joining the UFC
After his loss on the Contender Series, Jamall Emmers won four fights in a row. This impressive winning streak helped him get signed by the UFC. His first UFC fight was on March 7, 2020, at UFC 248. He faced Giga Chikadze and lost the fight by a close decision.
Jamall's next fight was on August 1, 2020. He won this fight against Vince Cachero by a unanimous decision, meaning all the judges agreed he was the winner.
In 2021, Jamall was set to fight Chas Skelly. However, the fight was canceled right before it started because Jamall had back spasms and could not compete. Later that year, on August 28, 2021, he fought Pat Sabatini. Jamall knocked Sabatini down early, but then Sabatini caught him in a special hold called a heel hook, and Jamall had to give up.
