Jamie Jilynn Chung (born April 10, 1983) is an American actress. She first became known from reality television.
Jamie started her career in 2004 on the MTV show The Real World: San Diego. She also appeared on its spin-off show, Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Inferno II. Many people think she is one of the most successful stars to come from The Real World.
Later, she became an actress. She is known for movies like Grown Ups, Premium Rush, Sucker Punch, and Big Hero 6 (2014). Jamie also received praise for her main role in the movie Eden.
On TV, Jamie played the main character in the miniseries Samurai Girl. She was a regular cast member in the superhero show The Gifted (2017–2019). She also played Mulan in the fantasy series Once Upon a Time. From 2017 to 2021, she voiced Go Go Tomago in the animated show Big Hero 6: The Series. In August 2020, Jamie appeared as Ji-Ah in the HBO series Lovecraft Country.

Early Life and Education
Jamie Jilynn Chung was born on April 10, 1983. She grew up in San Francisco, California. Jamie and her older sister are second-generation Korean Americans. Their parents moved to the United States in 1980 and owned a hamburger restaurant.
Jamie went to Commodore Sloat Elementary School and Aptos Middle School. She then attended Lowell High School, graduating in 2001. In 2005, she earned a degree in economics from the University of California, Riverside. She was also part of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Jamie's Career Journey
Starting in Reality TV
Jamie Chung was a cast member on The Real World: San Diego. This was the 14th season of MTV's long-running reality show The Real World, which aired in 2004. MTV described her as a hard-working student who had two jobs to pay for school. She also enjoyed having fun with friends.
After The Real World, Jamie appeared on a spin-off game show called Real World/Road Rules Challenge. She was on the 2005 season, The Inferno II. Jamie was on the "Good Guys" team. Her team won the competition.
Moving to Acting
After her time on The Real World, Jamie Chung started acting. She had small roles in TV shows and movies. These included playing Cordy Han in Days of Our Lives and a Hooters girl in the 2007 comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry. She also appeared in episodes of CSI: NY and Veronica Mars.
One of Jamie's first appearances was in the music video for Rihanna's song "Umbrella" in 2007. In 2008, she got her first big role. She played the main character in the ABC Family miniseries Samurai Girl. Her acting in this role was seen as a promising start for her TV career.
She had supporting roles in the 2009 movies Sorority Row and Dragonball Evolution. In Dragonball Evolution, she played Chi-Chi, Goku's love interest. Jamie also starred in a part of the movie Burning Palms. She later appeared in the Disney Channel TV movie Princess Protection Program with Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. In 2010, she was in the movie Grown Ups. She also had a supporting role in the 2012 martial arts film The Man with the Iron Fists.
In March 2011, Jamie Chung played Amber in Zack Snyder's action fantasy film Sucker Punch. For this role, she trained with Navy SEALs and worked with stunt experts. Jamie also voiced Aimi Yoshida in the video game X-Men: Destiny, released in September 2011.
Jamie got her first major movie role in the 2012 film Premium Rush. That same year, she starred in the independent film Eden. In this movie, she played a Korean American girl who is kidnapped. Since 2012, she has played Mulan in the TV series Once Upon a Time.
In 2014, Jamie co-starred in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. In October 2014, she voiced GoGo Tomago in the animated Disney film Big Hero 6. Big Hero 6 won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. She continued to voice Go Go Tomago in Disney XD's 2017 series Big Hero 6: The Series and in the video game Kingdom Hearts III (2019).
Jamie and her husband, Bryan Greenberg, starred together in the film Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong, released in February 2015.
In March 2016, Jamie was cast as a lawyer named Lana Harris in a TV drama called Miranda's Rights. However, the show was not picked up by NBC.
Jamie was cast as Blink in the Fox superhero series The Gifted, which started in October 2017. She played a younger version of the character from the 2014 movie X-Men: Days of Future Past.
In August 2020, Jamie appeared in the HBO series Lovecraft Country. She played Ji-Ah, a young nurse in Daegu during the Korean War. Her character falls in love with an American soldier. The sixth episode of the series focused on Ji-Ah and received much praise. Jamie said this was her most challenging role. She also mentioned that the show inspired her to create her own TV show idea, which was sold.
In 2023, Jamie voiced Vax, a freedom fighter, in the show My Dad the Bounty Hunter. In July 2024, Jamie joined the cast of the Hulu comedy series Unprisoned for its second season.

Awards and Special Recognition
On April 2, 2009, Jamie Chung won the Female Stars of Tomorrow Award. She shared this award with her Sorority Row castmates at the 2009 ShoWest trade show.
At the 2012 Seattle International Film Festival, Jamie won the Golden Space Needle Award for Best Actress for her role in Eden.
Personal Life
Jamie Chung started dating actor and musician Bryan Greenberg in 2012. They got engaged in December 2013. They were married on October 31, 2015, in Santa Barbara, California.
In 2019, Jamie shared that she had started the process of freezing her eggs. In October 2021, she and Bryan welcomed twin sons. Their sons were born through surrogacy.
In 2013, they bought a home in Manhattan. In 2020, they bought another home in Brooklyn. In January 2025, Jamie and Bryan's house in Los Angeles was destroyed by wildfires. They and their twin sons were safe.
