Harry James Sharper Jr. (born in 1974) is an American football coach and former player. He played as a linebacker for nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). A linebacker is a defensive player who lines up behind the defensive line. Their job is to stop the other team from running with the ball or to rush the quarterback.
Jamie Sharper played college football for the Virginia Cavaliers. The Baltimore Ravens chose him in the 1997 NFL Draft. He played five seasons with the Ravens and helped them win their first Super Bowl in Super Bowl XXXV. Later, he played for the Houston Texans and the Seattle Seahawks. Jamie is the older brother of former NFL player Darren Sharper.

Early Life and College Football
Jamie Sharper grew up in Henrico County, Virginia. He went to Hermitage High School. There, he played American football as a linebacker. His younger brother, Darren, also played football for the school.
After high school, Jamie went to the University of Virginia. He continued to play college football for the Virginia Cavaliers.
Playing in the NFL
Baltimore Ravens: Super Bowl Champion
The Baltimore Ravens picked Jamie Sharper in the 1997 NFL Draft. He was the 34th player chosen overall. Jamie made a big impact right away in his first year. He recorded 68 tackles, three sacks, and one interception.
He became a very important part of the Ravens' defense in 2000. This defense was one of the best ever. Jamie made a key interception that helped the Ravens reach the Super Bowl. He started in Super Bowl XXXV, where the Ravens won the championship.
Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks
After the 2001 season, the Houston Texans chose Jamie in their expansion draft. An expansion draft is when a new team picks players from other teams. He played three seasons with the Texans. From 2003 to 2004, he led the entire NFL in tackles.
After the 2004 season, he joined the Seattle Seahawks for one year. He helped the Seahawks reach their first Super Bowl. Jamie Sharper retired after that season because of a knee injury. During his nine-year career, he played in 136 games in a row. He only missed 8 games in total.
After Football: Coaching Career
After his playing career, Jamie Sharper became a coach. From 2016 to 2018, he coached linebackers at St. Augustine High School in New Orleans.
In 2018, he joined the Georgetown University football team. He was an assistant linebackers coach until 2021. From 2021 to 2022, he coached the defensive line for Georgetown.
In 2022, Sharper was hired by the DC Defenders. He coached linebackers and special teams for them.
