Jason W. Brown (born May 5, 1983) is a former American professional football player. He played as a center, which is a key position on the offensive line. Jason played college football at the University of North Carolina. He was chosen by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2005 NFL draft. After his football career, Jason made a big change. He became a farmer and now donates much of his harvest to help others.

Early Life and Talents
Jason Brown grew up in Henderson, North Carolina. He went to Northern Vance High School. Jason was a very smart student and a member of the National Honor Society.
He was also a talented athlete. He started in the marching band before his football coach convinced him to play. Jason was excellent in both football and track and field. He won four state championships in track and field. Three of these were for discus and one was for shot put.
College Football Journey
Jason started his college football career at the University of North Carolina. He first played as an offensive tackle. Later, he moved to play as a guard.
During his freshman year, he played against Florida State. He then found his main position as a center. He played center for the rest of his three years in college. Jason played in every single game during his college career. In 2004, he was named First-team All-ACC. This means he was one of the best players in his conference.

After his successful college career, Jason Brown was seen as one of the top centers available. Many experts thought he would be picked in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft. The Baltimore Ravens chose him in the fourth round. He was the 124th player picked overall.

Time with the Baltimore Ravens
Jason started his NFL career as a backup player in 2005 and 2006. In the 2007 season, he became a starter. He played all 16 games as a guard for the Ravens. In 2008, he started all 16 games as a center. After this season, he was considered one of the best offensive linemen who could sign with a new team.
Moving to the St. Louis Rams
In 2009, Jason signed a big five-year contract with the St. Louis Rams. This deal made him the highest-paid center in the NFL at the time. He played for the Rams until March 2012. At that time, the Rams decided to release him from his contract.
Looking for a New Team
After leaving the Rams, Jason became a free agent. This meant he could sign with any team. His old team, the Baltimore Ravens, offered him a contract. He also visited the San Francisco 49ers and the Carolina Panthers to consider playing for them.
Life After Football: A Farmer's Story
In 2012, at the age of 29, Jason Brown decided to leave professional football. He chose a completely different path: he became a farmer. He moved to Louisburg, North Carolina, and started a 1,000-acre farm called First Fruits Farm.
On his farm, Jason grows different crops like sweet potatoes and cucumbers. But he doesn't sell all of them. He donates a huge amount of his produce to local food pantries. He has given away over 500,000 pounds of sweet potatoes and 50,000 pounds of cucumbers to help people in need. Jason learned how to farm by watching videos on YouTube in 2012.
Jason also owns a special place on his farm called Amazing Graze Barn. This barn is used for events like weddings, company gatherings, and community meetings.
Personal Life
Jason Brown is African-American and a practicing Christian. He married his wife, Tay Brown, in 2003. Together, they have eight children.
