Jason Duane Jones (born May 23, 1986) is a former American football player. He played as a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). Jason played college football for the Eastern Michigan Eagles. The Tennessee Titans picked him in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft. He also played for the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and New Orleans Saints.

Early Life and High School Sports
Jason Jones grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He went to Southfield-Lathrup High School in Lathrup Village, Michigan. Jason was a talented athlete in both football and basketball.
In his senior year, he was named first-team All-Oakland Athletic Association. He made 27 tackles and had six sacks. He also forced four fumbles and caught seven interceptions. Three of his interceptions were returned for touchdowns.
Jason also played offense, catching 25 passes for 395 yards. He scored eight touchdowns as a receiver. The Detroit News listed him as one of the top players in Michigan. Jason has two older brothers. One is Brian LaWan Alexander, a retired professional basketball player. His other brother, Jamar, works as a Secret Service officer.
College Football Career
Jason Jones played college football at Eastern Michigan University. In 2007, his senior year, he was recognized as a third-team All-American. He also earned first-team All-Mid-American Conference honors.
He played in all 12 games that season, starting 11 of them. Jason finished with 70 tackles, which was fourth-best on his team. He was also among the top players in the NCAA for tackles for losses, with 19.5.
Jason also had 10 quarterback pressures and recovered one fumble. He forced another fumble and broke up three passes. He even blocked a kick. After his senior season, he was chosen to play in the 2008 Senior Bowl All-Star Game. He received the Harold E. Sponberg Award for being the team's best scholar-athlete among linemen.

Tennessee Titans Years
The Tennessee Titans drafted Jason Jones in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft. He was the 54th player chosen overall. In his first year, he started a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This happened because other players were injured.
During his first season, Jason played in 13 games. He made 31 tackles and had 5 sacks. In one impressive game against the Steelers, he had 3.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. He was even considered for Defensive Player of the Week. In December 2009, Jason was placed on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury.
Seattle Seahawks Season
On March 17, 2012, Jason Jones signed a one-year contract. He joined the Seattle Seahawks for the 2012 NFL season.
Detroit Lions Time
Jason signed a three-year contract with the Detroit Lions on March 13, 2013. Unfortunately, in Week 3 of the 2013 NFL Season, he suffered a knee injury. This injury ended his season early.
Miami Dolphins Season
On May 13, 2016, Jason Jones signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. He was released by the Dolphins on January 6, 2017.
New Orleans Saints Tryout
Jason Jones was signed by the New Orleans Saints on August 12, 2017. However, he was released by the Saints a few weeks later, on August 29, 2017.
