Jassen Andrew Cullimore (born December 4, 1972) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. A defenceman is a player who helps protect their team's goal and also helps create scoring chances.
Jassen grew up in Port Dover, Ontario, Canada. He spent most of his early hockey years playing for the Clippers team. When he was just 14 years old, he played Jr.C. hockey for the Caledonia Corvairs. The next year, he played for the Simcoe Storm Jr.C. club.
In 1988, Jassen was chosen by the Peterborough Petes in the OHL draft. The OHL, or Ontario Hockey League, is a major junior hockey league in Ontario. He played for the Peterborough Road Runners before joining the Petes.

Jassen Cullimore was drafted into the NHL in 1991 by the Vancouver Canucks. Being drafted means a professional team chose him to potentially play for them.
NHL Journey and Stanley Cup Win
In 1996, Jassen was traded to the Montreal Canadiens. A few years later, in 1998, the Tampa Bay Lightning picked him up. He played with the Lightning until 2004. It was with the Tampa Bay Lightning that he achieved a huge goal: winning the Stanley Cup! The Stanley Cup is the championship trophy of the NHL, and winning it is a dream for many hockey players.
After his big win, Jassen signed a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks. He stayed in Chicago until 2007. Then, he was traded back to the Montreal Canadiens. Soon after, he was released by Montreal.
Later Career Teams
After a tryout with the Detroit Red Wings, Jassen signed a deal with the Florida Panthers in 2007. He played for the Panthers for two seasons.
In 2010, Jassen signed a contract again with the Chicago Blackhawks. He was sent to their minor league team, the Rockford IceHogs, in the American Hockey League (AHL). Later that year, he was called back up to play for the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL.
